Methods Of Motion

Instructor; Marianne Petit
Course Description:   This class explores various ways to express ideas and stories through animation. From week to week we'll use a variety of tools — such as After Effects, Flash, Motion and iStopMotion — to illustrate the fundamental concepts and principals of animated storytelling.

We'll look at a range of traditional styles, including stop motion, cut paper, abstract and cartoon animation. Students are encouraged to experiment with various techniques and tools in order to find the style (or collage of styles) that best serves their final project. Drawing skills aren't necessary. A basic knowledge of digital video and graphics is a plus.
